What can I Expect?
Almost all of the children and adults that I see are already trying very, very hard. In fact, their brains are working too hard.
How does neurofeedback help that?
If you imagine your child's range of good to bad days. Think of an average day in the middle, a great day at the top, and a rough day at the bottom. What we are looking for, using neurofeedback as a tool, is for what used to be an "average" day to be what we would now consider a "rough" day. What used to be a "great" day would now seem more like the norm. This means a "great" day would look a little better, though this is usually a smaller shift in terms of improvement.
We accomplish this by adding neurofeedback as a piece of the puzzle. We help families with parent coaching techniques, family therapy sessions, conflict resolution training, social skills training, developmental play therapy, among other effective counseling techniques. We use the feedback from session to session to customize the neurofeedback process to each individual.
If you're looking into neurofeedback in Virginia Beach, we would love to see if we can help. Nikki offers consultation appointments, at no-charge, so that families can get answers to their questions and make an educated decision about whether neurofeedback is the right choice for them.
