Anxiety
Anxiety disorders are the most common, or frequently occurring, mental disorders. They encompass a group of conditions that share extreme anxiety as the primary symptom. This anxiety, which may be understood as the unhealthy counterpart of normal fear, is exhibited in mood disturbances, dysfunctional/self defeating thinking, avoiding behaviors, and physical symptoms.
Anxiety disorders include panic disorder, agoraphobia, generalized anxiety disorder, specific phobia, social phobia, obsessive-compulsive disorder, acute stress disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder. Anxiety disorders occur in persons of all genders, ages, and backgrounds. Fortunately, anxiety disorders can be treated. People who have anxiety disorders, even serious ones, can lead fulfilled, meaningful, and productive lives. Neurofeedback and counseling can be effective and practical tools to dealing with anxiety.
