Dr. C. Rick Ellis, Ed.D., BCN, qEEG- Diplomat, is a Licensed Clinical Psychologist, Forensic Psychologist and Neurotherapist. He is a former Certified Teacher and School Psychologist. He is an assistant professor of Clinical Pediatrics at Eastern Virginia Medical School and is the Director of Spectrum Psychological and Neurotherapy, PC, a private practice serving children, adults and families with a variety of special needs and challenges for more than 20 years. He is BCIA Board Certified in Neurofeedback and is an instructor for the BCIA certification class. Most recently, he obtained Diplomat certification in Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG).
Dr. Ellis has been actively involved in local, state, national and international organizations and has assumed a variety of leadership roles. He currently serves on the board of the Elizabeth Birt Center for Autism Law and Advocacy. As a result of his extensive knowledge and experience, Dr. Ellis is a sought-after speaker on a variety of topics including: ADHD, Autism Spectrum Disorders, guardianship, forensic issues and neurofeedback. He has trained other mental health professionals, attorneys, appellate judges and community members on a variety of topics including ADHD and autism spectrum disorders, particularly related to forensic issues. He is a member of the American Psychological Association including the divisions of the American Psychology-Law Society, Society for Clinical Neuropsychology and the division of School Psychology. Dr. Ellis has a number of publications and is a co-author of the Autism Assessment Scale for Children (AASC) that utilizes innovative assessment methods to ensure correct identification of the under-served segments of this population. He was an expert witness in the "Justice for Jenny" case that received national attention regarding guardianship versus independence of the disabled. He is a part of the growing number of professionals who are changing the paradigm of assessment and mental health care through innovative, evidence-based methods. Dr. Ellis founded the Neurotherapy Center of Virginia Beach in response to the growing number of children and adults that do not respond to traditional therapy and pharmacological treatment. The Center uses evidence-based and innovative practices such as Quantitative Electroencephalogram (qEEG, brain maps) to assess areas of neural dysregulation. Once patterns of strengths and weaknesses are determined, an individualized treatment program is developed utilizing a variety of methods including LORETA 19 channel 3-D Neurofeedback, Pulsed Electromagnetic Frequencies (pEMF) tACS, tDCS and tRNS. Lee Summer Phillips, PMHNP, BC
Lee Summer Phillips, PMHNP, BC is a psychiatric nurse practitioner who is nationally certified by the American Nurses Credentialing Center. She has been in practice for over 30 years. She has worked in a wide variety of settings including inpatient, outpatient and at the community level, and with all age groups including children, adolescents, adults and the elderly. She has provided mental health care at the Naval Regional Medical Center in Portsmouth and has served as adjunct faculty at Norfolk State University and Sentara School of Health Professions. She is licensed to practice in Virginia and North Carolina.
As a Psychiatric Mental Health Nurse Practitioner (PMHNP), Lee is skilled in psychiatric assessment and diagnosis and can prescribe medications and provide expert psychotropic medication management.
Lee’s areas of specialty include Attention Deficit Disorders, Bipolar-Spectrum disorders, Treatment-Resistant Depression, and Anxiety Disorders. She has a special interest in treating the mental health needs of the elderly population.
Lee earned her undergraduate degree at Old Dominion University and then subsequently a masters degree in community mental health at Hampton University followed some years later with a masters degree as a psychiatric nurse practitioner from the University of Virginia in Charlottesville, Virginia. She enjoys working in tandem with other mental health team providers to address the needs of clients with chronic and acute mental health problems.
As an advanced practice nurse, Lee is committed to providing holistic, patient-centered, and evidenced-based care. She believes in an integrated model of care, and works in partnership with clients, other healthcare providers and psychotherapists to achieve the best outcomes. She is devoted to keeping up with the latest research by frequently attending conferences and maintains ongoing continued medical education.

Nicholas J. Dogris – Ph.D. BCIA, QEEG Diplomat Nick Dogris is a Licensed Psychologist working in private practice in the Eastern Sierra Mountain Range. He is BCIA board certified in neurofeedback and has over 12 years of experience in the field. He is the inventor and cofounder of NeuroField, Inc.. Dr. Dogris is trained in the assessment, diagnosis, and psychological treatment of adults, adolescents, and children. He has over 18 years of experience in the mental health field and has worked with diverse populations to include people with chronic mental illness, developmental disorders and geriatric disorders to include Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s disease. Dr. Dogris is also trained in individual, family therapy, cognitive-behavioral and psychodynamic treatment modalities, QEEG, EEG Neurofeedback, Low Energy Neurofeedback System (LENS), tACS, tDCS, tRNS, hypnosis, EMDR, voice therapy, court mandated treatment of domestic violence, and play therapy.
